An Offer You Can't Refuse
God tells us that we have the "opportunity to do good." Most people think it either an act of spontaneity or a chore - But God doesn't see it that way! Opportunity usually means a chance for something of benefit to you. Is that the case here?
I would like to think so. ...and maybe, on the surface, you can think that way. But if you open up your viewpoint past yourself, maybe God is referring to doing good from His perspective - meaning, the eternal aspect of the kindness to another!
We are living examples of God's love. We show either kindness or aversion - concern or dismissiveness. Maybe God is trying to get us to understand that, though we have an eternity to enjoy God and His love, those around us only have a little time to know Him, before it will be too late.
