Butt-Kickin Faith
In these few short verses, the author says never give up, don't quit, you may be hurt but never crushed, and don't lose heart. Realize that Paul was in prison, beaten and battered, while writing these letters. Words of encouragement are amplified when you look and the one who's speaking and say, you know, Paul's circumstances are so bad that he has no business being positive. He should be angry, upset, and maybe even throw out a few cuss words now and then... However, he doesn't. Rather, Paul demonstrates to us the power of faith (or focus) in Christ. Paul knows that his own words will do little to help his own situation. His words are to encourage us! Inspite of despair, disaster, and disgrace, Christ is reason enough to believe that you have the upper hand. You are battle-ready in whatever you are facing. Don't give up. Never quit. Never say I can't. If Christ is for you, who can be against you? Kick some spiritual bootie today and become a Warrior for Christ. The victory is yours!
