Be Mine

Valentine's Day approaches w/ anticipation or dread depending on your relationship status. You're either looking forward to a romantic evening with your significant other or a solitary evening with a significant amount of comfort food or alcohol (on the later, don't go there. Trust me, it doesn't work).

What about the status of your soul? "Woah! Not there yet," some are saying. That's fine. Maybe you're reading this and you're not sure about God yet. Thats ok. Keep asking questions. In my heart of hearts, though, I am sure, so here's another question for you: If you can't change your relationship status right now, can you change your definition of love?

Today may be advertised for couples but long before Cupid took the spotlight for overdosing hearts with commercial love, someone was - and still is - exhibiting true love. Someone was the author of authentic love, and out of that love, you were born.

What about trusting someone who never stops loving you? How about someone that never leaves (Deut. 31:8), calls you the reason He rises each morning (Isa.30:18), calls you a chosen prince/princess (1 Peter 2:9), delights in you (Zeph. 3:17) and tells you how fearfully and wonderfully made you are (Psalm 139:14)?

God knows no other way to languish you than with unconditional, unquenchable, unrestrained love. Today - and every day - He tells you, "I'm yours. Be mine."
