We got your back
As Joshua charges the tribes of Gad, Rueben and the half tribe of Menasseh prior to going into the promised land he tells them they will get their land AFTER they help the rest of Israel secure their land across Jordan. They must lead the way and they must not abandon the fight. I love their response:
16 They answered Joshua, "We will do whatever you command us, and we will go wherever you send us.17 We will obey you just as we obeyed Moses. And may the Lord your God be with you as he was with Moses.18 Anyone who rebels against your orders and does not obey your words and everything you command will be put to death. So be strong and courageous!"
In others words - "Joshua - you have nothing to fear cuz we got your back!"
How about you? Do you have your leaders back? The volunteer team you serve on, the small group you are in, the pastoral team that leads the church. Can they count on you "do whatever you say, go wherever you send?"
Thats the kind of Christ follower I want to be!
