keep moving
Phillippians is probably my favorite book in the Bible. There is so much that could be said of each verse. But this verse in particular speaks volumes. Paul writes that he forgets what is behind and presses on to what is ahead. Too many times we use this scripture to say we are to forget our sinful life we left behind and move forward as a christian. While all that is true, we must not become complacent in our Godly deeds thus far but continuously move forward, drawing close to God.
I've known too many people who feel they have done their christian duties, like they have served their time in christian jail. But serving Christ isn't about duties; it is about a heartfelt change. Therefore, we must forget what is behind; forget all our Godly deeds and live as if we just started serving Christ today. We should never tire or never feel we have done enough in this life. Jesus paid the ultimate price for each one of us and never did he once decide to turn back because he felt like he had already done enough. So let's forget what is behind and continue to press on serving God wholeheartedly.
