He is educated
I think it is important to notice that the King is educated in the history of his people. Do not take this for granted. This battle had a different significance to it and so did his prayers because he was aware of the history. This was not just another people attacking them. Since he comes from a revivalist family, it makes sense that he is educated on their history. Notice the ignorance and folly of the kings without such an education. Good lesson to all of us.
