Not by accident John finishes the description of Jesus' miracle with twelve baskets full of bread. Twelve has always been the number of completeness in regard to God's chosen people. The truth here is that God through Jesus can provide for everyone, for each and every of the twelve tribes, in the old as well as in the new covenant.
