It is overjoys me to know that God is so loving, compassionate, merciful and gracious! He truly cares for His people.

The Israelites turned away from God, worshiped some petty idols, when they thought life was care free. But then out of no where they're attacked by the Ammonites and are freaking out, scared to death because their "gods" aren't able to save them from oppression.

So what do they do?
Naturally, they crawl their way back, pleading to God asking for Him to come to the rescue and save them from the Ammonites.

So how does God respond to them, to betrayal, to them breaking the 1st and 2nd commandment?

It says, "He was grieved by their misery."

He does what no other would do!
Initially, He is against the idea of helping them after all they did to Him, but in the end God, being loving and so caring, couldn't help it but help them. He could not contain Himself. He couldn't stand seeing His children suffer, so when they pleaded and cried out to Him, He came to their rescue.

To me, that is unreal, that is mind blowing, that makes me feel so good! - not that we can make purposeful mistakes and get away with things,but that God cares for us even if we foolishly go against his command. He loves us so much that He is willing to look past our wrong doings regardless of how horrid they may be.

Call out to Him, ask for forgiveness and He will answer. God is Love.
