The Mind Wastes Things Terribly
Most people associate sin with action; you know, stealing, killing, indulging in sexuality... But I'm here to tell you, the most dangerous sins are conceived, birthed, cultivated, and executed... in our mind. Paul tells us that is part of our old nature - the one we were supposed to put nail to the cross. It no longer has a grip on us.
Or so the theory goes.
The playground of the mind is much easier to play dirty in! No one else can see your pride, bigotry, lust, or fury; That makes it so much easier to justify away.
But, like all other laws of the universe, God has made us so that those things hidden will eventually boil out, and cause severe damage to our reputation and character.
Paul puts the problems of the flesh and the mind together, on the same level. We should too.
