How Faithfulness Can Move God On Your Behalf

What an awesome passage! To sum it up, Paul and Silas were beaten and ended up in prison because Paul cast out a spirit of divination from a slave girl. The owners of this slave girl got upset, because they knew they could no longer generate a profit from her.

Paul and Silas were not discouraged from being placed in prison. In fact, they prayed and sang hymns unto to God (v. 25). The other prisoners listened to these prayers and praises. God was pleased with this praise and worship and created an earthquake. This earthquake shook the very foundation and all the prisoners were loose from their shackles.

At this point, the jailer was on the verge of committing suicide because he knew there would be consequences for all the prisoners being set free. Paul told the jailer not to harm himself because everyone had stayed in place. The jailer ended up asking Paul and Silas what must he do to be saved. They instructed him to believe in Jesus Christ and to keep His commandments. And they baptized him within that very hour. And the jailer's family was saved on that day as well. God honored Paul and Silas' faithfulness and they were released from the prison.

When we honor God by communicating with Him in prayer and praising and worshiping, it moves Him to do great things on our behalf. God loves having a relationship and fellowship with the children He has created. Paul and Silas got themselves into a very stressful situation, however they did not break under pressure. There's saying that goes, "Pressure either bursts pipes or makes diamonds". And I truly feel Paul and Silas came out as diamonds during this time. The lives that they lived before God, drew others to God. The jailer and his family became saved. This is what God desires, He wants all of His children to be reconciled with Him.

Trust God and see how your faithfulness to Him sets the atmosphere for Him to move miraculously on your behalf!
