Sons & Sages.
What an insightful plea on Paul's part here. You will surely have many teachers...many sages, but you are my son in the faith! I led you to Christ...follow me - Paul says! There is, or i should say there should be a special bond between those who are led to Christ and those who lead them to salvation. There is a special, or ought to be where it is appropriate and this is certainly one case, authority given to one who leads someone to Christ. The person who finds life upon the trodden path of the beautiful feet of the one who brought the message that saved the soul from hell - is quite literally eternally grateful. Paul begged the Corinthians who were quite taken with the Sagely teachers of the day...forgot somehow the man who led them to Christ, a teacher in some ways with no equal in the NT. Father right now i thank you for the man who led me to faith and taught me the ways of Christ (vs 16). I bless you for him and respect him to this day.
