God's Presence Is My Center
Scripture and observation: The Levites were to camp around the tent of meeting and the ark of the covenant, and each tribe was to camp behind the Levites on all sides, North, South, East, and West. When God said to go, the whole encampment of Israel moved in chorus. When the tribes moved, they must always move with the ark of the covenant in the center. When the ark moved, they moved. If it stopped, they stopped.
Application. God always has a reason for why instructs us. The ark was God's presence. What a picture or illustration for us today. We are to do nothing without God's presence being at the very center of our lives. Today there is so much being said about our "center". If God is my center, then His presence will be evident in my life at all times. I will move in chorus with His wishes for my life.
Prayer: Father, I want you to be at the very core of my life leading and guiding, not far out ahead so that I am always running to catch up. Let your presence be the guiding force for me, that I might always know the moment when I step out away from it. May your presence be that which completes me; bringing balance and purpose, so that when you move, I move and it becomes second nature to my life. Let my life, Lord, be your tabernacle. Amen.
