Do you realize what you have?
Rick Norsigian kept two boxes he bought at a garage sale under his pool table for four years before realizing they may be too valuable to store at home.
The Fresno, California, commercial painter learned this week that what was in those boxes he paid $45 dollars for a decade ago could be worth more than $200 million.
The person who hosted the garage sale didn't realize what they had in their possession or they wouldn't have sold it for $45.
Though the beggar made a request for money, Peter gave the man what he had. Peter understand the value of what He had. He had Jesus. He had a personal relationship with Jesus that caused him to be convinced that the power, character, and nature of Jesus could be most beneficial to this man. So Peter said, "In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk!" The "name" of Jesus embodies His authority. The man is able to walk because of the work of Jesus Christ in his body and life. Peter understood what He had in the person of Jesus.
How often do we overlook people or situations because we don't realize what we have? If you are a Christ follower, then you have a personal relationship with the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Savior, Redeemer, Son of God and Ruler of the world.
Don't waste years journeying with Jesus only to realize at a later date, that He is more valuable than you realize. Jesus is indeed more valuable than anything this world has to offer. Boldly proclaim to people, "What I do have, I give you!" Jesus.
