Clear Conscience
I strive always to keep my conscience clear! This is my goal, and should be the goal of every one who calls on the name of Christ. But unfortunately (especially for me) it is not a goal I always reach.
It is so easy to fall short of the mark, and to make mistakes, Oh, to have the pedigree of Paul, who could stand in front of a jury and say "judge me, weigh my actions" with confidence.
I know that I could not do that - I would be found wanting - but the Lord is gracious and kind, slow to anger and abounding in love.
Even when we fall, He is there to pick us back up - Lord help me to strive after you with more effort. Help me to look to Your ways and Your plans as the best ones, and the short time goals, or short term satisfactions as the least preferred.
Let us be like Paul, who strived to be like Jesus - we need not boast in our own abilities or actions, but instead we should boast in the Lord!
