we owe it to others
I have always seen this verse as a command to steer clear of debit and although I continue to believe that Debit is a trap and a state we, as followers of Christ, should not remain in this verse has another side to it.
Today as o was drinking my OJ I was meditating inflow verse and the word "owe" popped out to me. In a bit I saw the verse as a declaration, that we owe LOVE to our fellow man.
It makes perfect sense now, as I remember that Jesus said "love your neighbor". That was a command not a suggestion. So what the author of Romans is receding to is this initial command to love.
But I had not seen it as me owing it to others. This will change the way I live.
I owe love to those around me.
Love on.
