Paul's greeting is long and outlines many things which are covered later in the book:
1.) Paul is a servant of Christ, called to be an apostle. He is not more than a servant even though he is an apostle
2.) Set apart for the gospel of God - like a Nazarite
3.) Which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy Scriptures - the gospel was the original intent, not a response to his chosen people's inability to keep the law.
4.) Concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh - Jesus met the physical requirements of the Messiah
5.) And was declared to be the Son of God in power according the the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord - Jesus' resurrection proved he is more than just the physical king that
Israel was hoping for.
6.) through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name - our salvation is to bring about our obedience for the glory of Christ; it's not just about it getting into heaven.
7.) Among all the nations, including you who are called to belong to Jesus Christ - this gospel is for all...
