God vs. Satan
Tonight I watched a little bit of a History Channel segment called, "God vs. Satan", which is about the end times. I am recording the rest to watch it.
My mom and I were talking about the short part of what we saw on the show and she was honestly getting a little scared. We switched and talked about God's strength and protection over us and then said goodnight to each other.
As I walked upstairs to my bedroom (I'm a college student who comes back home on weekends to see family and go to church), I started thinking about how I really do not have much of a fear of the devil. I have had many experiences with the devil and am no longer afraid.
I view it like this: I used to be afraid of hearing other peoples' faiths/religions, because I feared they would be convincing. Then i heard other faiths and watched beautifully as my faith in Christ grew stronger (God showed me the beauty of Truth)! In the same way, the devil has tried scaring me many times through different (crazy) experiences. Since I have had those experiences, I have not grown more afraid, but my fear of the devil has dropped dramatically, while my faith and understanding and experiencing of God's power has grown!
Well as I was upstairs in my bedroom tonight, about to go to bed, I felt God say to me, "Jared, sit down and read Matthew 16:23-24". These are the verses you have just read.
God spoke to me reminding me of the devil's tactics and Christ's authority. I am so thankful that God would choose to speak these words to me. As a Christian, I view it as my responsibility to share with you this message. I encourage you to read Matthew 16:23-24 since you have just read my post, and let God speak to you, too, powerfully through it.
Because our God is a powerful God.
