Personalized prayer

Resting in this verse before bed, I thought I'd personalize it by replacing the pronouns (here):

"When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower (me) with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in (my) heart as (I) trust in him. (My) roots will grow down into God's love and keep (me) strong. And may (I) have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May (I) experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then (I) will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God."

Read it aloud. Read it again. Doesn't the scripture seem transcendent? It draws me closer to Christ and to this brilliant idea that though the Bible is read by everyone, I can create a moment that's just between me and him.

I am grateful for a limitless God; there is no end to His love, wisdom or power. He rushes after us like the wind but sometimes we run. We don't believe in love until we've reached an end. No where left to run - and God is there, patiently waiting. We say, "You are too great," and think, "I am not enough." We are afraid. But for all His might, God stoops down into the crevice of our hearts and gets personal. He says, "I know you better than you think. Your fear will turn into faith. Set your heart and mind on Christ. Trust him; trust also in Me."

We let God in and become a new soul. I am grateful to the One who never runs out on us.
