Praise Him In Advance
"I've had my share of ups and downs; times when there was no one around. God came and spoke these words to me, "Praise will confuse the enemy." That is the first verse of this week's meditation song. It blessed me as I began to hear those words coming through my speakers.
The question came to me; why praise God in advance? Why praise him before something happens? Isn't that a lot like thanking a cashier who hasn't rang you up yet? Or thanking and tipping the waiter before he gives you service? Why would you thank God in advance?
I had to look up the word 'advance'. I knew what it meant but I wanted a deeper understanding. So I looked it up in my trusty online dictionary and got many meanings, but this as the meaning blessed me: Advance- to supply beforehand; to accelerate.
So in praising God in advance I do two things; I supply to him thanks before it's manifested (whatever "it" may be), and I accelerate my breakthrough! That thing blessed me!
That's why this scripture I chose this week says, " In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ concerning you." When you learn how to give thank in everything, you give God thanks for what he's GOING to do and accelerate that which he's doing! You don't give thanks FOR everything but IN everything. No need to thank him for Cancer, it ain't a blessing! But you can thank him while having cancer for the healing!
If you praise him in advance, it causes you to exercise faith! Some of you have what I like to call "safe-faith." You know you got faith in the things of God as long as they make sense. As long as you have enough money; as long as you have that job; as long as you have that car--you have faith in God.
But Christians, saints and you people of God must learn how to have "crazy-faith." I'm talking about the kind of faith that when everyone else says you're crazy, you're just crazy enough to believe God! Who's report will you believe? The enemy's or the Lord's?
Crazy faith requires ridiculous work ethic. You've got to believe in this thing that you have faith in and prove it by your works. I can determine your level of faith by the level of work you put into it.
Do you really have faith you can lose that weight when you're eating a bunch of bad things and not exercising? Do you really have faith that God gave you that man for your husband and you're still acting like a girlfriend? A high school girlfriend at that! Do you believe that God gave you that ministry but you're not even preparing for it? Yea I know your level of faith by your level of work. Even mustard seed faith (like Matthew 17:20 talks about)requires hard work and dedication. The problem with many Christians is they have truckload faith and mustard seed works!
Your faith and your work is all apart of praising him in advance; and it's a shame that Christians can't grasp this concept. Probably because we're too busy complaining about what's in front of our eyes instead of praising for what's in our near future!
Sapp said God told him that praise will confuse the enemy. Cam says (Cam is me y'all! LOL) not only will it confuse the enemy, but will cause you to exercise faith and accelerate your breakthrough!
I dare you to write a list of 5 things you want God to do for you. Pray its in his will and praise him like it's already done! I'm a witness! God will respond to your praise! God will not allow praise to be wasted! If you praised him for it (exercised faith, prayed and worked towards it) then he's got to do it! Your praise has locked him into a contract with you! Your praise is a covenant with God. Your praise says to God that, "even in what I'm in, it doesn't matter because I know you're going to bring me out! But even if you don't, the praise is making my faith grow stronger and causing me to work harder! So therefore, that in itself is reason enough to praise!"
How would you praise him if "it" (remember "it" can be whatever) was already done? Well I came to tell you that "IT" IS ALREADY DONE!!!!!!!!
Now if you can't praise him for that, there's something wrong with you! Give him praise in advance even right now!
