What will it take for you to go after your dreams?

So ask yourself that question; what will it take for you to go after your dreams? Will it take tragedy? Seeing a friend less qualified than you make their dreams happen? Will you just get tired of where you are and what you’re doing? Really ask yourself, what will it take?
In this 3rd installment of the book of John (which is an epistle or letter) he writes in the second verse that he wishes that “thou mayest prosper and be in good health, even as thy soul prospers.” What a blessing it is to have someone else to think of you and have the prayer that you prosper, your soul and your health does also. So today I’m writing to you in the same spirit that John writes this letter; I pray that you would prosper and be in good health!
For far too long you’ve had too many people around you that do not wish you well. They don’t want you to prosper and if you did, they’d be very upset about it! They want you to suffer, and be beneath them. Many people have the “crab in the barrel” syndrome. As soon as you start to make your way out of the barrel, they’ll start to pull you down. With me, this isn’t the case. I want you to prosper. I want you to do well. I want you to go after your dreams! I want you to achieve some goals!
So I ask you again, what will it take for you to go after your goals? Haven’t you had enough of sub-par living? Haven’t you had enough of not having all that you desired to have as a child? Remember when you wanted to be an astronaut? Remember the desire to be a doctor or lawyer? What happened to your 2 year plan? What happened to your 5 year goals? You just gave up on them. Life got in the way. You had a baby or two. You got caught up. Maybe you just plain forgot.
Some of you, if not most of you just got discouraged. You got angry, frustrated or depressed even about not being able to accomplish things that you set out to accomplish years ago. You thought you’d be married by now. Or maybe you’re married and thought your marriage would be different by now. You thought that job you started 10 years ago was just temporary. You thought you’d have your shop, store, firm or business by now—but you don’t. You’re stuck. You’ve got your feet stuck in cement, and they ain’t moving.
You’re so broke, you can’t pay attention! You’re so frustrated you could bite glass! You are in a rut! Your situation isn’t turning around! You’ve been to the altar and gave in the offering. You’ve prayed about it and had hands laid on you. You cried, pleaded and begged God to take you to the next level, and it seems that he isn’t listening. You’re so frustrated that you’ve stopped praying. You ain’t just gave up, you don’t even care anymore. So much bad has happened that when something good happens, you don’t even know how to act!
So with all that said, are you going to give up on those dreams? Really? Do you really not trust God enough to go after that which you want? Because you do know that those dreams, and goals—well they came from the Lord right? How I figure that? The Bible says that every GOOD THING comes from the Lord! So I know you want to take credit for all the good thoughts and goals you’ve had but I come to tell you that they all come from God!
Why tell you that your goals and dreams come from the Lord? Because when you don’t go after your goals and when you don’t chase those dreams, you insult God. He’s the one that gave you the talent, the brain, the beauty and your gifts. You’ve got to learn how to use them for the glory of God! Yes even your hair shop can be to the glory of the Lord! Your modeling career, your company, your store—anything you want to do with your life can bring glory to God’s name! So do it! And do it now!
You’re not too old I promise you. If you’re still breathing then HE’S STILL ABLE TO USE YOU!!!!! You’re not too young! He’ll qualify you! You haven’t made too many mistakes, he forgives you! You are called to greatness! Success is yours! Dreams DO COME TRUE and not just at Disney World! Do it and give him glory!
If what you want to do can’t bring God glory, then cut it out! Don’t bother. It’s a waste of time. But as Christians we need to learn that our lives don’t have to be centered around the church, but do need to be centered in God!
Every day life that we live needs to bring God the glory! This includes your dreams and goals.
So I hope what it takes is this simple word. I hope it takes this simple scripture that I gave you and I hope……no I pray that you go after those dreams and goals and make them a reality! YOU DESERVE FOR YOUR DREAMS TO COME TRUE!!!!! Remember that!
