THOUGH NO ONE GOES
30 “I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, so that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.
One person...one willing heart, is all You were looking for! I'm sure You wouldn't have left them to do it alone, but rather-You were looking for someone to be a forerunner! I wonder, how many people did You call to be that one person to stand in the gap? It's so easy to fall into the "norm" of everything that's going on around us...even in church! But You're not asking us (as a church) to do that, are You? But rather, to stand in the gap, and allow You to build a wall that cannot be tore down!
As this world evolves, it's so easy to look at the world to see how we can do things better. But, what You're asking the church to do is lead the world to You! That I, as a follower of Christ, I have the ability to be a forerunner to not allow the church to be dictated by the world, but the church to influence the world----isn't that why You created the church to begin with?
Hmm, doing church---doesn't seem so appropriate now. More like being the church. I need to be the church, and influence the world! Not being afraid to stand in the gap-no matter what is going on around me, because You will, build that wall! I just need to be willing!
Heavenly Father-You are doing something that I cannot imagine or dream of! Lord, will You give me eyes to see as You do, ears to hear like You hear, a heart to love like only You can, and the obedience to go! Lord, may I understand what You are doing, and also have Your vision for it! You will influence the world! In Your name-Amen!
