Worship In Fear

Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth. -Psalm 96:9
Worshiping God in fear of him, brings splendor. I fear the wrath of God. Maybe you don't think much of it, or much about it, but it is something that even Jesus did not want.
Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; -Luke 22:42a

On the cross, the full wrath of God was unleashed upon Jesus, and it was so grotesque that God turned his face away from his Son.

You see, Jesus wasn't a man that was afraid of facing the Roman soldiers, cat of nine tails, a splintered cross that he was nailed to. He was a Savior that fearfully endured divine wrath, so that you and I wouldn't have to.

For that, I worship in fear.
