Do and See

"Do it and see what happens." Those were the words out of my wife's mouth the other day, and they had an odd ringing in my ears. She and I have recently been confirming with each other, what God is revealing to the other. But when she said those words, I knew that she was just the medium for what God had to say. There is a story of an armor bearer, that said the same type of words of affirmation. You see Jonathan had this notion, that just he and his armor bearer could climb this cliff and take on a whole Philistine outpost.

Just him and his armor bearer.

I would have told Jonathan that he was crazy, that there was no way just the two of us could defeat all of those Philistines. But that's why the armor bearer was there.

“Do all that you have in mind,” his armor-bearer said. “Go ahead; I am with you heart and soul.” -1 Samuel 14:7

I believe the armor bearer didn't wonder about what was going to happen to them. I think he knew God had a plan and a purpose for them, and that they were carrying it out. So why is it so hard for us to "Do and See"?

When my wife made that statement, I didn't take the "see what happens" part, as a question. I believe that something is going to happen. Why? Because God has a plan and a purpose. The "see what happens", wasn't said with a question, or thought of doubt. No, she and I are confident that we will see what happens, after and/or while we do.

So are you questioning the see, and that is why you haven't done the do? Do you want to read the last page, before you do what's on the first? Or do you lack the courage to do, because the see is too risky? Anything short of sin, is worth the risk.

What have you done, and what have you seen? What do you need to do, so you can see?
