Seeing People Through Your Eyes of Love
1.You don't know what's going on behind the scenes in someone's life. Instead of being critical and writing them off take time to get to know them.
° When you find out why people are the way they are, you get a different perspective.
° We all have strengths and weaknesses...we shouldn't boast in our strengths or look down on people because of their weaknesses.
° You reap what you sow. (Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.)
° Love overlooks mistakes....it covers mistakes. (1 Corinthians 13)
2. Proverbs 15:4 The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.
° My job is to heal the wounds.
° Take a merciful approach.
° When you step into the other person's shoes, it helps you put on the right eyes.
° The world is full of people who need someone to understand.
3. (Luke 5:30 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, "Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?" 31 Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.")
4. I should practice my faith and choose no to just do what's convenient.
° Romans 15:1 We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. (MSG 1 Those of us who are strong and able in the faith need to step in and lend a hand to those who falter, and not just do what is most convenient for us. Strength is for service, not status.)
° It's easy to be critical.
° Take the extra step and find out the story behind theperson.
