Focus on growth

All too often I just focus on not sinning and being "okay and clean" for God. If my day was without a "major sin", I can sleep in well. Although this is very important, we are to pursue love, righteousness, faithfulness and peace, as well. If you focus on improving in these basic Christian attitudes, you're less preoccupied with getting rid of sin.

Don't get me wrong, it's crucial to flee the desires and live a clean and holy life, but that alone does not let you grow spiritually. If you are relentless and try to grow all the time, you will be more likely a useful servant for Christ.

Just ask yourself some simple questions:
Do I love Christ and people more today than I did a year ago?
Has my faith become more firm during the recent years?
Is my character more peaceful than a couple of months ago? Can people see that?

If not, work on it! Pursue it! Nothing is sadder than having to look back and realizing I am still the same. Also Paul challenges us not just to drink the milk, but to eat the meat - a sign of spiritual maturity.
