an unbeliever's search/a believer's knowledge
Believers do not search the scripturs for answers they don't know.
They search the scriptures for answers they know, but are not sure they know.
If our life is a testimony of what we believe, then the scriptures are not needed as proof of our God, who we are, and how we are living.
Knowing God gives us knowledge of who we as believers are.
Proof is a necessity for unbelievers who are in search of the answer. Seeking the freedom from mental incarceration, which can only be achieved by knowledge of the truth, and experienced in faith.
