Favoritism = Sin

In summary, I believe that we should look at the possibility that we live in sin today. Our partiality towards people in our meetings isn’t really the big problem. Why? Because the destitute rarely show up at our meetings. We’ve already unfairly judged them outside of church so much that they wouldn’t dare step foot in our meeting place. And, if you don’t think that there is a rich/poor discrimination in today’s American churches, you must have no pulse. But, like it or not, Jesus has a thing for the lowly, the beaten, the oppressed. He’s got love for those that are not loved. He touches those that are untouchable and loves the unlovable. And, I need reminding all the time that we are the extension of His life on the earth. We are His body. We should be carrying out what He started. Somewhere along the line we let information and learning trump praxis, and our faith has become weak. But, James’ message is clear: Love is right and favoritism is sin.
