delayed blessings
You are blessed! What do we mean when we say that or hear that phrase. Usually it means that we have found something "divine" on this side of heaven. Something wonderful is currently happening and yet this area of scripture is referring to those who currently feel "cursed". They are poor in spirit, they are mourning, they are meek, hungry for God....they are being persecuted for the sake of Christ. So the blessing is not for the current state of existence but for the future glory. The greater "blessing" there will be living a life that in a sense gets deprived of blessing here. So the words of Jesus are they to lift us when the world seems to be against us that blessing awaits on the other aide and those blessings are eternal.
