Uzziah's Proudful Downfall
So sad to read about this unfavorable turn in King Uzziah's life. After so much prosperity and so many victories won in the name of the Lord, dependent on Him, Judah's king threw it all away because of pride in his own accomplishments. With hardened heart Uzziah decided that he could defy God and fulfill the priests' divinely appointed role.
None of us, and most certainly not I, have "arrived" in our Christian walk or in assured spiritual victories. It's a daily battle, and we need to persevere in our daily humble dependence upon our Creator and Savior.
