B.O. is Just as Good as Bling

God wants more than your bling. I’ve been reading in the book of Exodus this past week, and came across a couple of guys that didn’t give God their bling.

Bezalel, and Oholiab. We’ll call them B.O. for short. These two guys were chosen by God because of their skills, abilities, knowledge, and artistic design. The back story to B.O. is pretty historic. It’s called the Exodus.

While the Israelites were on their way out of Egypt, God told them to take all of the gold, jewels, and fine stones. Not just their jewelry, but the Egyptian’s jewelry as well. We don’t know what, or how much gold and jewelry B.O. took out of Egypt, but as skillful as God said they were, they might have taken tons.

What we have is a great example of how B.O. is just as good as bling. Well, maybe not the B.O. that you keep thinking about whenever you read the letters, B.O. The skills, abilities, and knowledge that God has given us is just as good as our bling, money. Now don’t hear me say that the tithe isn’t necessary, because that is not what I am saying. My main point is, you have more to offer, and the church, ministries, non-profits, etc. have more to receive than just money.

It’s too easy to accept, and give just bling. Our B.O. is just as important.
