Cleansing and Renewal

The people of Judah and Jerusalem had sinned against God. They had scorned His mercy and grace. God finally decided to start again with His remanant and burn away all the filth in His land. But the hard thing was that both the faithful and the unfaithful had to endure hardship. The only difference is that the faithful endured to the end while the unfaithful were destroyed.

I have filth inside of me and stains in my heart. Sometimes God uses storms and firery trials to burn away that filth, to cleanse my spirit. But through this storm He is still my refuge and shelter, though the storm may be hard, difficult and frightening He will never let me be destroyed by it and is protecting me in the midst of it. Once I come out of this I will be holy as my God is holy. I will be more like my daddy. Lord knows I am tired, weary and downtrodden, but He is my refuge and won't let me be destroyed. It is only a season. I love you Daddy.

Daddy, have mercy on me, continue to be my refuge and shelter because you are all that I have. Without you in my life, I have no life and I want the fruit I bear to bring you pride and honor. I want to bring you glory. This season is hard though and I need your grace to endure. Help me to see your goodness and mercy in this, help me to look to you in this time and take my eyes off me. I am down, but not defeated, help me to remember that. Help me to learn all that you want me to, so I don't have to take this test again. I love you Lord, in Jesus name. Amen.
