God Deserves More
"Therefore the Lord said:
“Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths
And honor Me with their lips,
But have removed their hearts far from Me,
And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men," - Isaiah 29:13
In the world, we often see people "talk the talk" but fail to "walk to walk". As believers, we should not apply this principle. It's so many people who say they are believers or say they love God, but their lives tell a different story. David describes in Psalm 62:4 how people bless with their mouths, but curse with their hearts. Unfortunately, we do the same thing to God at times.
James 3:11 asks "Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening?" A spring has to bring forth either fresh water or bitter water, but it cannot do both. It's time to strive to send forth fresh water unto God. God is so awesome and His love for us never fails! He deserves far more than just lip service. We should continually draw close to God, so that we may be people after His own heart. Let's choose to crucify our flesh daily, so that we may decrease and God increase in us. Strive to line your heart up with God, so that you can give Him more than just lip service.
