Doing good puts the lie to charges of wrongdoing. Peter's eschatological perspective (e.g., "glorify God on the day he visits us") formed the basis of moral appeal. It also gives a hint of evangelistic purpose in the world. Paul urged believers to "do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers" (Gal. 6:10).
