More Questions than Answers
I've heard more than a few people say of themselves, "I wish I'd never been born!" but it's almost like Jesus is saying the same thing here about Judas since it would have been better if he hadn't been born.
I don't really know what to do with that. Jesus picked Judas, knowing what was going to happen. Wouldn't it have been better if Jesus didn't pick Judas? I'm just having a hard time with the idea of Jesus saying it would be better that someone NOT be born. Does Jesus think that all people who choose not to believe and are destined for hell would be better off if they weren't ever born? Is he condemning the betrayer or does he have compassion on him?
I'm glad I'm not Judas, but wish I understood what Jesus meant by what he said here.
