What is the writer saying?
Jesus tells a story to the P's about a vineyard and the abuse of the servants sent to the temporary caretakers. The caretakers refused to give back to the rightful owner any of the fruit of the vineyard, attempting to keep it all for themselves, and even when the owner's own son came, they killed him, thinking that would mean they would hold on to everything. Judgment came and they were destroyed and thrown out and lost their opportunity.

The S's and the P's got more angry and began to work very hard to spy on Jesus and catch him in something, sending men to question and try to trap him in his talk.

How can I apply this to my life?
I'm reminded of the gift of salvation through Jesus. Jesus made a sacrifice that is really beyond my understanding. I can't even wrap my mind around what must have been the pain and emotion he felt knowing that his own life would be given so that sinful humans could be restored to a right relationship with God.

I think it's cool that even the P's acknowledge, in the midst of their hatred, that Jesus didn't alter his message based on the crowd and that he spoke the truth of "the way of God".

God, I pray that I am never blinded so much that I can't see the truth that is staring me in the face.
