"... and he increased..."

I think it is easy to forget the human side of Jesus. That his knowledge and power were all part of an almost "magical" revelation he carried with himself always. But this one line of scripture reveals that as he grew up he didn't automatically just know everything. But he had to walk as a human through the same type of experiences, in general, that develops wisdom, character, knowledge and compassion in our lives.

We, of course, see him full of power through the Holy Spirit in his ministry and life. But we also know the power of the Holy Spirit is accessible to us, that wisdom is one of the things God says he will give if we just ask, and that knowledge is right in front of us in the Bible and our experiences.

I guess this verse revealed that Jesus character and wisdom wasn't "easier" for him then us. He needed to be faithful, to work hard, and to yield his heart to God for the Holy Spirit to move in power as we are challenged to do.
