Holy Communion is:
1. A time to Celebrate!
He replied. "Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, 'The Teacher says: My appointed time is near. I am going to celebrate the Passover with my disciples at your house.'"
(Mathew 26:18)
2. A time to Commemorate.
And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me."
(Luke 22:19)
3. A time of Confession and Commitment.
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9)
The time is coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah...For I will forgive their sins and will remember them no more." (Hebrews 8:8, 12)
