What is the writer saying?
The closer it gets to the end of days, the more unstable the world will become. The passage speaks in detail of the impending desolation of Jerusalem. Jesus calls them to stand vigilant and to pray in light of these events.

How can I apply this to my life?
Obviously, I'm living in a messed up world, full of hatred, greed, destruction and general lack of care for God. It is so important that I live in a way that points others to Jesus. Don't take my faith or my understanding of the Bible for granted.

Jesus gives a beautiful illustration of the budding leaves, and that even the turmoil we experience is a sign of hope for what is to come, when one day i'll be reunited with my Creator. Thank you for opening my eyes to salvation and allowing me the privilege of being called your Child.
