What is the writer saying?
Judas turns on Jesus and plots to give him over to the chief priests. Jesus shares his final meal with the disciples and explains what is to come.
How can I apply this to my life?
Jesus gives us a reminder of His suffering and sacrifice for our sins through the illustration of supper. It seems impossible to really understand what Jesus suffered to pay the penalty for my sin. Any common parallel I can think of seems insignificant compared to the thought of willfully leaving heaven and the God of the universe to live a routine life, cast out and rejected by those to whom you gave life, so that you might save them from their own wickedness.
