when the work of God costs too much
2000 pigs 1 regenerate man. Which is worth more? To God it is evident that the soul of this one tormented man was worth more than a towns livestock but to the town.... It wasn't. We love the story of conversion when our stake is minimal but when the cost increases; when we don't witness overnight change, when our schedule is sacrificed, when they lash back at us, how often do we react like the town? Jesus Your work is costing me too much. Go find another town. Go find some other place that places a value upon the single soul the way you do. What if all of our life was to be spent upon a single soul? Who is willing to pay the cost of true discipleship? Who has truly surrendered all for the sake of accomplishing His agenda?
Father Your will, Your way! No matter what the cost. Pierce me with the significance of the single soul. Clear the haze of what is too expensive that I may be like You. May the beauty and power if Your live overwhelm and compel me. Lift me above compromise and set my face as a flint to shine for You. Today Holy Spirit draw near and fill me! Use me for Your end.
