Who is my neighbor? The religious scholar sets a trap. Jesus tells a story. Stories reveal truth by showing--not telling. The truth is: neighbors are not defined by geography, but by opportunity. When it is in our power to act and to love--we fulfill the whole law by exercising our power.

Beat up and left for dead? Love them.
Traditional enemy? Love them.
Unruly children? Love them.
Exasperating co-worker? Love them.
Crazy in-laws? Love them.

The way this story is told, how can we put anyone on the "do not love" list?

Yet, the modern day religious scholars--keep such a list...and add to it frequently.
