Prodigal


One of the best messages I've heard in the last several years was given by Tim Keller on this text. It was unique in that most pastors teaching on this parable focus on the lost son. But, Keller did not.

Keller taught on the elder son. The religious one. The one who stayed home and did everything "right". It was uncomfortable for some in the audience that day. It was a revelation to others.

I have been reading bible stories almost my entire life. At least for 35 years or so. I am amazed when a familiar story with an anthology of sermons attached to it becomes new and fresh truth for the soul.
