How Lucky I Am
Sometimes in the midst of ministry, the day to day struggle of budgets and dealing with problems, struggling to keep a new church plant going, balancing work and family and ministry time, plowing ahead with the next thing that needs to get done, I lose sight of just how lucky I am.
I have to confess, I think it has been awhile since I have just been in awe of how amazing it is to be called by God. I forget that I ran from this thing for a long time. I forget the sense of absolute wonder I felt that the God of the universe should ask me to be his representative, to speak his truth to the world.
And, this verse renews that sense of wonder in me. Somehow, I get to preach the boundless riches of Christ. I am a steward of the greatest treasure ever known to man. I am a mouthpiece for words beyond the profound. I am called. In that, there is wonder. So, I am incredibly lucky to be given this divine responsibility.
