In this scripture, Judas questioned why Mary would waste such an expensive perfume by pouring it on Jesus' feet instead of selling it and giving the proceeds to the poor. And Jesus told Judas to leave Mary alone, that she was meant to have this perfume for His burial.
Our offerings and sacrifices for Jesus comes from our hearts. When our hearts are overwhelmed by the fact that Jesus loved us so much He gave His life for our salvation - what is expensive perfume compared to that? We should love God above all and love our neighbors as ourselves.
Loving God comes first - and because of God's amazing love grows within us and overflows - we are able to love others as ourselves. God's abundant love through our hearts which he has filled to overflowing!
