Fruit For the Hungry

Now this passage really drew my attention. I was thinking about this all day and I was trying so hard to figure this out. So here we have Jesus who wakes up and He's hungry, so he goes over to a fig tree. Now I believe that it was not fig season at the time and He knew that. He sees that the fig tree bears no figs and curses it. So I was like "whoa" random. He then goes back to the temple and He is upset starts turning the tables over and scolds the people telling them "Is it not written: 'My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations'? But you have made it a den of robbers." He refers that scripture from Isaiah 56:7.

Is Jesus just grouchy because He's hungry? Know this man fasts for 40 days and 40 nights I think he can handle missing a little breakfast. So why was He upset? He cursed the fig tree and then he gets mad at people?

Well let's look, Jesus was hungry and He went to the fig tree expecting figs even though He knew there would be none, I mean He is God. And so he curses the fig tree for not bearing fruit as it should. He then goes to the temple and gets angry at His people as He did His fig tree. For they were selling and buying doves and money changers. They were corrupting what His temple courts were supposed to be, NOT bearing the fruits that they should have been. Was it for nothing He cursed a fig tree? That He was upset with His people and His temple courts? No we should be bearing the fruit that He has called us to. We should be acknowledging that which He is calling us too. We should have the fruits of the spirit Not corrupting His church and his people.

See what I love about this is Jesus was hungry. Like every other man and woman He was hungry. Then I started to think about my hunger for Him. Could it be that Jesus would be hungry for me too. This isn't what the scriptures are saying here it was just a side thought that made me happy. To know that Jesus was hungry and He probably is hungry for me! That He loves me with a desperate heart! I should quench His hunger by bearing the fruit of the spirit. By LISTENING to Him.

Heavenly Father,
My king. God what a talk we had today. Jesus forgive me for not bearing the fruit that you are hungry for sometimes. For corrupting that which you have called holy. God I press on to bear the fruit of the spirit and lavish that on others lord. God as you hunger for me and long for me God overflow that hunger into me God that I will ALWAYS be hungry like you Jesus. God you absolutely amaze me how great and awesome you are I love you so very very much Jesus. I love you! In Jesus' name I pray!
AMEN
