Grace
EXCERPTS:
We know a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law... For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law.
When I tried to keep the law, it condemned me. So I stopped trying to meet all its requirements so I might live for God
My old self has been crucified with Christ (my law-following self) and it is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me.
So I live in this early body by trusting in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me.
I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.
_______________________________________________
knowing this is true... knowing that it is faith that makes me right with God and not adherence to rules... why do I find myself spending more time trying to adjust my 'behavior' and not much time strengthening my faith?
Christ lives in me... this, again, is something I 'know', but not something I really walk within consciously. How would I act differently, respond differently if I kept this awareness alive?
I pray I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. Lord, this tremendous gift should bring me to my knees every day.Let me not forget.... let all that I do and see remind me that this grace you extend is everything.
