What have you done lately?
I want to be with Jesus for eternity and there are many others that come to mind that I hope and pray will be there with me. Some folks that come to mind I'm pretty certain will be there; pastors, sunday school teachers, sweet old ladies, modern day prophets, demon chasers, praise warriors...you name it.
Some folks that appear to be obvious selections for kingdom residents will be shocked when Jesus says "I don't know you".
"Wait, Jesus! We did the stuff you did!"
"But not with the same heart." he will say.
These words from Jesus remind me to check my motives. I've laid hands on the sick and they've recovered. I've preached revivals and seen ones put their faith in Christ. I speak in tongues and dance before the Lord. I keep a regular devotion time, fast, serve the poor, and financially give to further the gospel.
I'm good, right?
Paul echoes Jesus in 1 Corinthians 13. Except what I do is done in love then it all means nothing. Jesus wants our love.
