Where is our passion? Where is our zeal? Why don't we hunger and thirst for justice and righteousness as Phinehas did?
God's passion was for the lost. He sent His Son to die for us because He loved us, even in our sin. He sent Jesus to make a way to Him, not to condemn us, but to save us. Jesus' zeal was for the church. Righteousness is only found in Christ. We were all born sinners and all of our righteousness is as filthy rags.
We must be passionate for the lost! We must be zealous for our fellow believers. We must strive to keep God's commands.
So, how do we get that passion back? "This is what is required of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8.
