When You Pray
Often I am awed when something I pray for is given to me by God. Most of the time it's the little things - like a sunny day on a weekend where rain was in the forecast.
I think I am awed because when I prayed, I lacked the faith to be sure that God will give me what I want - thinking to myself, maybe God has a plan and that is why it's supposed to rain. But in this scripture it says, when you ask something in prayer, pray as though you have already received it.
Have faith. Know that your Heavenly Father loves you so much that He will bless you with what you need - even if it seems impossible. Because He is God and everything is possible through Him.
This scripture also emphasizes having a heart free from hate or anger. When we pray we must hold no grudge against anyone, we must forgive so that we may be forgiven. When we have hate or anger in our heart, it feels heavy, encumbered and dark - once we forgive, we are set free from this burden, our heart is then empty and ready to be filled with God's love. If your vessel is full, there is no place for God's love - so empty your heart of bad things so that God may enter today.
