Nailed
Observation: Paul was discussing their legalism and their desire to be obligated to the law. However, he tells the Galatians that if they would live as the Holy Spirit would want them to live, there would be love, joy, peace, patience, faithfulness and other attributes that are not required by the law. Then he makes the is statement that rocked me to the core...'those who belong to Christ, have NAILED the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there."
Application: I must remember when I asked Jesus into my heart all of my past and future sins were nailed to the cross...but why do I still struggle with sin? Because of the next verse. I am not following the Spirits leading in every part of my life. I must surrender to the H.S. everyday to live the life God intended...the fruits of His Spirit.
Prayer: Lord, I need you help to follow and walk with the Holy Spirit in all ways. I desire to follow you and listen to you. What you did on the cross was forever...may I continue to follow and live by your Spirit! In Jesus Name...AMEN!
